Since its premiere, Troubled Waters has toured extensively across England, Wales and Scotland, reaching 30 venues and audiences across 50 performances, before completing a month-long run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
What began as a new solo show has grown into a substantial touring production, performed in theatres, festivals, galleries and storytelling spaces across the UK. The show has been warmly received by audiences and critics alike, described as “genuinely very funny” with “a masterful storyteller” at its centre. At Edinburgh Fringe, it was praised as “a true triumph of the genre”, an “impressively immersive production” and “a passionate and accomplished piece of work.”

Troubled Waters is a vibrant tapestry of freshly told legends exploring our relationship with rivers, wetlands and the wild things that inhabit them.
Drawing on folklore and mythology from Britain and beyond, Corinne Harragin weaves ancient stories together with contemporary questions about water, landscape, identity and connection. These are tales of characters who refuse to accept what is set in stone — and find their own flow.
Funny, physical and atmospheric, Troubled Waters invites audiences to dip their toes into vital waters and look beneath the surface: what do our rivers remember? What happens when we listen differently? And what might we discover when we allow ourselves to be changed by the places around us?

Booking the show
Troubled Waters is available for theatre, festival, library, gallery, museum and community venue bookings.
The production is deliberately low-tech and adaptable, making it suitable for intimate storytelling spaces as well as theatre and festival settings. The show runs for approximately 70 minutes, without an interval, and is suitable for audiences aged 14+. It contains some sexual references.
The production requires minimal set and technical provision, with the performance built around Corinne's physical storytelling, voice and direct relationship with the audience.
